How it helps
Comforting and calmingMost of our bedtime stories are gentle rhyming journeys with dreamy lullaby-style choruses. Musical transitions are specifically designed to be mesmerizing. As each story progresses the narration becomes increasingly sleepy, ambient sounds diminish and backing tracks fade.
Sleepy and soothingMusical loops continue for several minutes once each story ends, before gently fading to avoid sudden silence. Many stories feature ambient white noise, from vacuuming and distant lawnmowers to washing machines and lapping waves.
Grounded in scienceConvolution reverb is sometimes used to create a dreamy effect. Some of our bedtime stories even replicate low-frequency oscillations in the theta range, similar to Tibetan prayer bowls. Our meditations are based on the principles of cognitive behavioural therapy to help children manage negative thoughts.
